4 Quick-Access Buttons

The Janome QM18 has simplified handlebar controls with just two intuitive thumb controls on each handle. Use the + and – buttons to toggle through menus and choose settings, the ↑↓ button to select, and the play button to start stop the machine.

Telescopic Thread Stand

The built-in telescopic thread stand ensures that your thread is feeding smoothly. Simply place your thread on the spool pin, slide the thread through the thread mast eyelet from front to back, and continue threading through the following thread guides.

The Janome QM18 comes standard with M Class bobbins that are larger and hold more thread than standard bobbins. This allows you to quilt for extended periods before changing or refilling your bobbin. When you need to exchange your bobbin, swapping them out is super easy on this front-loading machine.

Optional 18 Ruler Base

Do you like to use rulers and templates when quilting? Add on the optional 18 Ruler Base to provide a stable, extended workspace to rest the ruler or template.

USB Port for Easy Software Updates

Located on the side of the QM18 is a built-in USB port. Occasionally, Janome will release software updates for your machine that allow you to utilize the most recent features. When an update is due, use a computer connected to the internet to download the updated file to a USB drive. Safely remove the USB from the computer and into the USB port on your machine. From the main menu screen on your machine, select Update .

Two Stitch Modes

The Janome QM18 offers two stitch modes: Cruise and Precise.

Cruise: Cruise mode is helpful for continuous, smooth, or curvy designs. It does the same as precise mode, except the machine will continue to stitch in place (at the minimum speed) if you stop moving the machine.

Precise: In the default precise mode, you select the stitch length you want, and the machine will adjust to help make more consistent stitches. It only stitches when you move the machine, which aids with patterns that have corners or crisp points.

Convenient Magnetic Storage

Handy magnets are located on both sides of the LCD screen to keep pins, scissors, etc., within reach.

8 ProFrame

8 ProFrame easily expands with the option of adding a 2 extension kit. The frame is constructed from high-quality powder-coated steel with ratcheted-pole ends, ensuring your quilt is secured firmly for flawless stitching.

Independent Bobbin Winder

Never run out of bobbins with the included independent bobbin winder. Quickly restock full-capacity M-size bobbins with the thread of your choice and have them ready to complete your project!

LED Lighting

The ultrabright LED light ring is mounted around the needle bar and directed toward the quilting area. There are also two high-intensity LED lights behind the magnetic bars on the front handles for exceptional lighting. The brightness on the LCD can be adjusted as needed.
